A Little Bit of History
Perry House Day Care Centre is located one street east from the center of town. The house was originally built by Peter Perry, back in the early days of Whitby. After many changes and usages, it became a day care centre in 1975. Since then, it has again changed owners and has had many transformations.
Perry House is a lovely old building situated on an oversized lot. The interior is warm and homey and has a lot of character. The children vary in age from infancy to twelve and are grouped in rooms according to this as well as their maturity level. The daily routines and activities are planned to enhance the child's development.
Although many of the old trees are gone, the children can still enjoy playing in the parklike setting every day. On really warm summer days, the inground swimming pool is a real advantage. Walks to the local parks are always fun and trips in our vans are a frequent happening at Perry House.
Besides providing a safe, stimulating environment, staffed by caring professionals, Perry House offers transportation to and from all the local schools and many options to help you and your child cope with the busy, everchanging world in which we live.
Because of our central location and size, both high school and college students often chose to do placements with us. They are appreciated by staff and children alike.
At Perry House, our door is always open and visitors are always welcome.
